Passing of the Vine, from one Couple to Another

Brian and Jennifer Heath have owned Grape Creek Vineyards in Fredericksburg, Texas since 2006.  They have planted estate vineyards, expanded and developed state-of-the-art winemaking facilities and created an exceptional visitor experience at their “Tuscany in Texas” tasting rooms.  As a result, Grape Creek has seen growth from 2500 cases to 50,000 cases of wine produced annually. Grape Creek only sells directly to their customers on-site at their three locations, on-line and through their wine club.

Club members benefit from exclusive club wines, special access and seating options, private events and discounts on virtually everything Grape Creek.  The Heath’s commitment to their members continues with the new Heath Vineyards designated wines, available only to existing Grape Creek club members. This amazing terroir was discovered in the Summer of 2014 while on a learning trip with their leadership team.  They saw the property, tasted the wines, and then made an offer two weeks later!

The relentless pursuit of viticulture practices that generated the “fruit” of low-yield, ultra-premium vines and grapes.

Larry Stanton practiced medicine for 40 years, including five years in emergency rooms in Watts, California and 37 years in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He moved to the Paso Robles area in 1977 and has been there ever since. Larry began farming/ranching in 1977 - barley, safflower, walnuts, almonds and cattle - and maintained a medical practice besides. In 1980, he returned to full-time practice until 2000. He has practiced pro bono medicine since 2000.  

The vineyards were planted in 1999 by he and his wife, Teresa. The commercial winemaking began in 2006 and the first bottling was in 2009 and featured a 2006 Merlot (winner of 2 International Gold Medals), and the 2006 Paso Bordo, a Bordeaux/Rhone blend, that is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah.(92 points, Wine Enthusiast).
