The source of this wine is the 2 acres of Sauvignon Blanc vines that sit in the North Valley of the property. This is the coldest area and will often experience nighttime Summer temperatures in the mid 30’s. The soil is a river bottom soil atop limestone boulders about 4 feet below the surface.
2015 Tasting Notes
Displaying a hue of bright pale yellow, the expansive complexity of this wine shows best at warmer temperatures which allow rich aromas of creme brûlée to contrast with grapefruit, apricot, lemon zest, and white flower petals. Lively acids are complemented with a wet stone minerality for a delightfully crisp finish. Vibrant pale yellow, with delightful aromas and flavors of fresh melon, pear, tangerine, and lemongrass. With hints of lightly toasted oak and minerality, the wine is full-bodied and rich in texture. The fruit is well-integrated with crisp acids and continues to evolve once in the glass.
